  1. Open the download

    Open doxie.dmg from your Downloads folder (or click it in your browser's downloads).

  2. Drag doxie to Applications

    In the window that opens, drag the doxie icon onto the Applications folder.

  3. Open doxie

    Open doxie from your Applications folder. A paw 🐾 appears in the menu bar; doxie has no Dock icon.

    macOS says doxie can't be checked? doxie isn't notarized by Apple yet, so the first start needs one extra step:

    1. Click Done in the message.
    2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down.
    3. Next to “doxie was blocked”, click Open Anyway and confirm.

    You only need to do this once. On macOS 14 you can also right-click doxie → Open.

Now write your first note

Press ⌥Space in any app, type, and press ⌘S. That's it. Your note is now a little dog in your park: 🐾 → Open Inbox.

Everything else is in the documentation. doxie updates itself and asks before installing.
