In short
doxie keeps your notes on your Mac. There's no doxie account, no doxie server, no analytics and no tracking. The app only goes online for the things listed below.
Who is responsible
Miro Duman, Hardturmstrasse 269, 8005 Zürich, Switzerland, hello@doxie.ch.
Your notes
Notes are stored in a database on your Mac (~/Library/Application Support/doxie). We never receive them. If you turn on one of these features, doxie writes your notes where you choose:
- Markdown export: to a folder on your Mac, for example your Obsidian vault.
- Sync between Macs: to a folder in your iCloud Drive, handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
- Notion: to the Notion workspace you connect, using your own integration key, under Notion's privacy policy. The key is stored in your Mac's keychain.
Update checks
Once a day (you can turn this off in Settings), doxie downloads a small update list from GitHub, where new versions are published. Like any web request, this reveals your IP address and doxie's version to GitHub. doxie doesn't send any information about your Mac or your notes.
Doxie Pro purchases and license keys
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC), our reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy processes your payment, billing details and email address under its own privacy policy; we receive your name, email address and order details to provide your license.
When you activate a license key, doxie sends the key and your Mac's name (as shown in System Settings → General → About) to Lemon Squeezy, so you can see and manage your activations. Once a day, doxie checks with Lemon Squeezy that the license is still valid, sending the key and the activation's ID.

Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted, by writing to the address above. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Switzerland, the FDPIC).
